Root & Bower is built for long-term preservation. Permanence means designing the service, its ownership model, and its eventual wind-down responsibilities around the idea that family memories deserve more than temporary storage.
Our Commitment
Preserve for the life of the service. Plan responsibly for what comes after it.
We do not define permanence as a promise that a company, technology provider, or website can literally exist forever. We define it as a commitment to long-term preservation without intentionally expiring qualifying Memory Land, paired with a responsible process for helping families recover their memories if Root & Bower can no longer continue operating.
While Root & Bower Operates
Your preserved space does not quietly expire.
Qualifying one-time Memory Land is intended to remain available for the life of the Root & Bower service. We do not intend to require a recurring subscription simply to keep that purchased storage entitlement active.
Root & Bower may change infrastructure, vendors, technical implementation, or product features over time, but those changes are not intended to erase an existing paid storage entitlement.
If Root & Bower Must End
Families should have time to take their memories home.
If Root & Bower permanently discontinues the service or can no longer maintain stored sanctuaries, we intend to make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice to affected account holders.
When practicable, that process will include repeated email reminders and a reasonable opportunity to export sanctuary information and download individual preserved items before deletion.
What Permanence Means
Long-term by design
Root & Bower is designed around preservation rather than engagement cycles, advertising inventory, or disposable social content.
No recurring expiration fee
Qualifying one-time Memory Land is not intended to disappear because you stop paying a monthly storage subscription.
An exit path
A responsible preservation service should plan for the possibility that it may someday stop operating and give families a meaningful opportunity to recover their data.
What Permanence Does Not Mean
We will not pretend technology is immortal.
No online service can truthfully guarantee that a company, hosting provider, storage system, domain name, network, or technology will exist forever.
Root & Bower also should not be the only copy of an irreplaceable original. Families should retain independent copies of photographs, recordings, videos, documents, and other materials they cannot replace.
The details of service availability, Memory Land, wind-down procedures, and legal rights are governed by the Terms of Service.
